An elegant cold weather dessert, poaching pears softens them and brings out their sweetness. Different pear varieties show off different flavor notes, such as vanilla for Asian pears, citrus for D’Anjou pears, and melon for Concorde pears.

  1. Bring Stevita, orange juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to a boil in a large skillet. Add the prepared pear halves.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and cover, letting the pears simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until tender. Serve warm or chilled.
